Paying on Camlist

Here's how you can pay on Camlist, and why you should choose to do so.

When you need to pay the seller, the SAFEST option for you as a buyer is to pay through the app; this will guarantee you are protected and provide you with a scam-free experience.

Paying on Camlist is easy:

STEP 1:

First, you need to start a chat with the seller of the listing you are interested in. At this stage, a seller may send you a "Deposit Request" or a "Payment Request" from their end. The "Deposit Request" is handy for cases where you and the seller may have agreed upon a non-refundable deposit. You can learn more about deposits here.

STEP 2:

If the seller has sent you a "Deposit Request", you will see a button that says "Pay Deposit". If the seller has sent you a payment request, you will see a button that says "Pay now". If the seller has not sent you either, you can still choose to tap on the "Pay now" button and you will be asked to enter the seller's full asking price to make a payment.

STEP 3

Once you press "Pay now" or "Pay deposit", you will first be asked for the amount that you would like to pay. Remember, deposits are for non-refundable deposits to be paid to the seller only. If you want to use our protected payments option where all your payments are protected until you receive the pet, you need to tap on "Pay now".

When asked for the amount, always enter the full asking price of the seller, even if you would like to pay in installments as you will see the option to setup the installments in the next step.

STEP 4

Once you enter the amount to be paid to the seller and proceed, you will be redirected to the checkout screen, where you will be asked to choose your mode of payment.

The available options of payments will depend upon the amount you are looking to pay, and whether you are making a payment or paying a deposit towards the seller.

Once you've chosen your preferred mode of payment, tap on "Proceed to Payment" and follow the instructions. It would be something like this:

STEP 5

Once you have made the payment from your preferred mode of payment, your payment or deposit maybe pending approval from our compliance team because depending on your country of residence, you may be asked to complete a one-time identity verification as per KYC and AML guidelines.

Once your payment is completed and approved, the seller will be notified, and the amount will be visible to them on their Camlist balance. This is held in the balance until you receive your pet, tap "Confirm delivery" on your chat, and attach a photo of yourself with the pet. Once this happens, we will initiate the transfer of the amount to the seller's bank account.

In cases of deposits, the amount will instantly be available to the seller to withdraw to their bank account as they would be non-refundable as per your agreement with the seller. You can learn more about deposits here.

  • If you are in the UK πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§, and if it is your first payment on the app, you may be requested to verify your identity in order to complete the payment after a manual review process by our compliance team.

** NOTE FOR BUYERS IN THE US πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ **

For payments on ACH direct debit (bank transfer):

It takes anywhere between 4-6 working days to settle due to limitations of the ACH payment systems and bank processing timelines which are completely outside our control. Only once your payment is complete, settled, and passes our compliance requirements, it will be approved and you can proceed to pick up the pet.

For payments on PayPal:

Please note that sellers need to complete a quick onboarding process to accept payments through PayPal. If your seller hasn't set this up yet, ask them to reach out to our Support Team through the in-app support chat for assistance.

It takes at least 48 hours to complete at which point, you will be asked to complete pending steps on your PayPal dashboard, only after which your payment will be marked as complete on Camlist. Only once your payment is complete, settled, and passes our compliance requirements, it will be approved and you can proceed to pick up the pet.
